ManyChat was built when Instagram’s API only worked through Facebook Pages. That’s no longer required — Meta’s 2024+ Instagram Login flow lets apps authenticate directly. Mentioflow uses the new flow. ManyChat hasn’t migrated yet.
For creators who don’t already have a Facebook Page (and most don’t — Page reach has been declining for a decade) this is the difference between trying the product or bouncing during onboarding.
